Looking at life as an exam field is completely different from looking at it without considering the exam. Same difference applies to the concept of servitude. When it is said that examination is the basis of Allah’s divine decree (predetermination), it means the hardship he gives us is for the examination, the comfort is too for the examination. Not only is the examination the basis of Allah’s divine decree, your duty is too based on the exam. Religion is also nothing but a scheme for examination. I swear to God if you don’t comprehend the concept of examination or your dominant approach to life isn’t the examination, even the religious teachings (maaref) will mislead you, we will have a distorted image of religious teachings
What is the difference between the traffic laws and religion? Traffic laws are static and dead, legislated to establish public order not to test you. Religious orders are not dead: Do you know when God says the adhan? God looks at you to see when you are busy with something then says the adhan to test you with the adhan. God tests every one with the adhan in a particular way. Do you want me to introduce you a guide who tells you what to do in every moment? It is the adhan and the prayers. Adhan is not a dead law; it is for your examination.
Your duty is to plan and make the effort to reach your goal but the result depends on the examination system. These planning are tools to get you into the examination system. You do your job; Allah does his job (examination). It would be very easy if we were not supposed to plan and don’t care about the results; the beauty is that Allah gives effect to your effort then ruins everything! He takes the effect from your efforts. “I found Allah almighty by him spoiling the decisions”. Do you agree that this way human being will become much dependent on Allah? Looking with the examination in mind ravishes human beings.
When Imam Khomeini says “World is in the presence of Allah, do not disobey him in his presence” who is he addressing? Is he addressing the Gnostic whom realize the presence of Allah? No, he is addressing you and me. If when your exam time comes you pay attention, you shall see Allah and his will. Then you will learn how Allah behaves; live with him and gradually get to know him. You will not know anyone unless you live with him. Saying these, do you now want to live with him? Is Allah only sitting up there idle? When you go out and get into a taxi, who is there beside you and… Allah is talking to you with whatever comes into your path. Where in our lives is Allah not talking to us? Just go and live with God alone! Have you ever lived with the active Allah? Not the god that many think of him as a shrine where you visit when you desire.
Basically, the world is a game. The true relations are formed in the hereafter. The true family forms in the hereafter. Whatever is here are all exams. You have taken the world seriously for no reason. That is why the divorce statistics are so high. No one is supposed to live here. Here is only the exam. Real love is not here. Real suffer and pain is not here. Real pleasure is also not here. Here nothing has originality.
To realize what Allah expects from you, you must know where you are living: in the world of exams, there is no other news in this world!
Know that this world’s life is only sport and play and gaiety and boasting among yourselves… ( Hadid verse 20 )
